MEET J. O’NEILL
J. O’Neill writes the kind of stories she grew up craving—queer urban fantasies about fierce, messy heroines who would burn the world down for the people they love.
By day, she lives in Los Angeles with her wife, their amazing daughter, and Clifford, a large, chaotic dog who graciously allows them to share his house. By night, she dives into worlds of hidden magic, dangerous prophecies, and love that refuses to be quiet.
Raised on a steady diet of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Stephen King, she has always been drawn to tales where ordinary people are thrust into extraordinary—and often terrifying—circumstances. It’s no wonder she read every single Stephen King novel before the age of twelve.
When she’s not writing books, J. O’Neill works as a TV and film writer, and occasionally sneaks in some fan fiction on AO3 for sheer joy of it. She’s a lifelong pop culture junkie with an encyclopedic knowledge of queer TV and film characters, and she fuels her creative life on a steady stream of black coffee, Tony’s Chocolonely bars, and Jeni’s Ice Cream.
She is also a devoted jigsaw puzzler—finishing three to four puzzles a week and owning over 500 of them—a skill that comes in handy when piecing together the intricate, twist-filled plots of her novels.
The Omega Prophecy is her debut novel, the first in a series that blends ancient myths, queer romance, and high-stakes supernatural suspense.
